Garden Buildings and Decks

Home owners are turning more and more to their outdoor spaces to compensate for lack of indoor space provided by the new smaller homes that are being built in North America today.
Many home owners  are turning to their outdoor spaces  to perform tasks and functions  more traditionally thought of as taking place in ,in home rooms.  Garden buildings and structures are being utilized for both the traditionally accepted uses, such as tool, and vehicle  storage and none traditional use, such as utilizing a garden building as an outdoor or detached  home office or guest bedroom  or cabin. Garden buildings are often a much cheaper alternative to expensive  home extensions, some, if local codes and by laws are adhered to closely, do not even need planning permission. Most of these garden buildings, decks and other garden structures, serve double duty not only as a functional room, where  particular tasks can be performed but many serve as stunning eye catching pieces of garden decor. Whether your garden building is assembled from a prefabricated kit, or it is delivered to you front door already assembled ,or if you are your streets answer to Bob Villa and have built your own garden building from plans you purchased online or even drew up yourself, there are not many homes and gardens that are without a garden building or structure fulfilling some need or task .

Do you Need or Want a Garden Building

Consider the following:
If you do not have a home that has  a garage, an attic or accessible loft space or even a  basement? Or, if your home does have them, but they are  already cram packed and over flowing  with items already stored there.
Even if after cleaning out all the unnecessary clutter and having several garage or lawn sales and organizing until your fingers bleed , but you still don’t have enough storage space because like our family you are all pack rats and everything has just a little sentimental value  attached to it so you just can’t bear parting with it.Then like us  you have no choice but to expand your storage space into a garden building of some description.

If a garden building  is indeed what you need, consider that there are many  styles available  finding   garden buildings  that will complement the style of your home will not be a big challenge . If your house  style is antique or rustic, garden buildings with a country or  quaint old-fashioned charm might look nice in your garden setting , adding not only to valuable storage space but becoming an attractive piece of garden decor and focal point for your garden  . If your home is more recently built or in a more modern style, remember there are garden buildings  made to look sleek and modern, too.

Even the smallest details of the garden buildings can be made to match the main house. items such as  awnings, shutters and doors can be constructed to complement the home decor style, making many garden buildings look just like a miniature version of the house to which they belong. Though the series of posts found on this site we intend to point you in the direction of finding your perfect garden buildings solution for your individual situation and needs.
